Frequently Asked Questions

I can't log in to my account. What should I do?
  1. Make sure you're using the exact email address you registered with.
  2. Tap Forgot Password on the login screen and follow the reset link sent to your email.
  3. Check your spam/junk folder if the reset email doesn't appear within 2 minutes.
  4. If you still can't log in, email us at iguard@abeprimeventures.org with your registered email address and we'll investigate.
I'm not receiving emergency alerts or push notifications.
  • iOS: Go to Settings → Notifications → iGuard and ensure "Allow Notifications" is on. Set alerts to "Immediate Delivery".
  • Android: Go to Settings → Apps → iGuard → Notifications and make sure notifications are enabled. Check that Do Not Disturb is not blocking alerts.
  • Make sure you're connected to the internet (Wi-Fi or mobile data) and that Background App Refresh is enabled for iGuard.
  • Try logging out and back in to refresh your push notification token.
Location / map features aren't working.
  • iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → iGuard → set to While Using the App or Always.
  • Android: Settings → Apps → iGuard → Permissions → Location → Allow "all the time" or "while using the app".
  • Ensure your device's Location/GPS is turned on globally, not just per-app.
  • If the map is blank, check your internet connection — map tiles require an active connection.
The app crashes or freezes.
  1. Force-close the app and reopen it.
  2. Restart your device.
  3. Make sure you're running the latest version of iGuard from the App Store or Google Play.
  4. If the crash persists, email us with your device model, OS version (e.g. iOS 17.4 or Android 15), and a brief description of what you were doing when it crashed.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
  • iOS / App Store: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → iGuard → Cancel Subscription.
  • Android / Google Play: Google Play app → Profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → iGuard → Cancel.
  • Cancelling stops future renewals but you keep access for the rest of the current billing period.
  • For refund inquiries, contact Apple Support or Google Play Support for in-app purchases, as payments are processed by those platforms.
How do I report an incident or submit a safety alert?

Tap the + Report button on the home screen or map. Fill in the incident details, optionally attach a photo, and tap Submit. The report will appear on the map for nearby users who have alerts enabled.

My photos won't attach to a report.
  • iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → iGuard → set to Full Access. For camera: Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → iGuard → on.
  • Android: Settings → Apps → iGuard → Permissions → enable Camera and Files/Media.
  • Also check that your device has sufficient free storage space.
Is my data and location shared with other users?

Your precise location is never shared directly with other users. Only anonymized incident report locations are shown on the map. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your data.
